EFT – “Emotional Freedom Techniques” by Gary Graig used to be a very hyped technique that promised a quick and easy solution to trauma. All you actually had to do was tap a certain sequence of meridians/energy points on the body and move into the disturbing situations.
Many people have little success with this technique. Hours or days of practicing hardly brought the promised success and the technique was forgotten in disappointment.
The technique is probably perfect for releasing trauma energies or healing traumatic memories. It was probably just poorly explained and disseminated.
Most users will have simply tapped into the body or the material plane. This may help some people, perhaps those with a more haptic-synesthetic disposition.
The exercise really becomes safer when you “tap into” the different spatial planes or even the non-physical intermediate planes or supra-space with the right spin and power. It may be hard to imagine at first, but with a little practice, guidance or contemplation, you can learn the technique and hopefully achieve success quickly. The boundaries between the perceptible physical and the non-physical (they are actually physical too, but not yet tangible or measurable to us) and the very subtle levels can be opened up. You have to tap into all accessible levels and corners with the right force (over a certain required swing range or a certain amount of momentum).
There are already some therapists who promise healing for a lot of money through external treatment and preservation or supposed removal of trauma toxins. However, self-treatment is much more sustainable, fairer and more healing!
Perhaps knowledgeable people can perfect the process, especially the repressed dark toxins can certainly be cleansed with refined techniques using your own consciousness.
